Mathilde Lacombe and François Morrier met during a training course on the eve of their 20th birthdays. Mathilde went on to pursue a career in the women’s press. Their collaboration began in 2011 with the creation of Joliebox, the first French beauty box. In 2018, driven by a desire to offer a more personal and reasoned approach to the world of beauty, they launched AIME, the first brand to combine nutricosmetics and skincare. For Mathilde, the inspiration behind AIME came from her own personal journey. Having suffered from skin problems for years and spent a fortune on traditional products and treatments, she realised that the cosmetics industry was focusing more on treating the symptoms than on the underlying causes of skin problems. Her perspective changed radically when she realised the importance of the microbiota and its link to skin health. The creation of AIME became a no-brainer for her, as a way of combining her passion for beauty with a holistic approach to skin health.
It’s important to know your limits in each posture that you hold for a long time, so that you can experience the benefits of this practice to the full.
Yin yoga targets the deep tissues and helps to strengthen the joints by keeping the posture immobile, unlike Vinyasa, which targets the muscles.
This is the principle of Yin yoga, and it is advisable to hold the postures for 3 to 5 minutes.
This is the ally that will help you hold your postures for a long time. Breathe slowly and deeply with your chest, and never by inflating your abdomen.
To relax and loosen your muscles and work on your range of movement.
You very quickly reach a level of concentration that helps you to meditate and relax.
Whether you’re simply looking to maintain a minimum level of physical activity, slim down, strengthen your joints or get a workout worthy of a top-level athlete, the benefits of yoga are numerous! From a physical point of view, the practice aims to improve your well-being and involves all your muscles and joints. In particular, yoga helps to strengthen the back and improve overall posture. It also improves coordination and breathing, stimulates blood circulation, and helps you relax. Finally, on the mental side, yoga boosts concentration, helps you manage stress better and encourages meditation. Yoga is a discipline that can be practised throughout one’s life, while remaining in tune with one’s body.
Book your yoga retreat with AIME and enjoy the exceptional scenery and benefits of the Crillon le Brave hotel.
Last April, guests were able to take a break in the heart of Provence with our well-being weekend, which invited Pilates beginners and experts alike to reconnect with themselves through daily practice. The Pilates classes were led by dancer and teacher Elena Berti. During your stay, guests were offered two nights’ accommodation in the category of their choice, plus a buffet breakfast. In the morning, they enjoyed a body wake-up call followed by a two-hour Pilates session. A light lunch with the flavours of Provence awaited at the La Table du Ventoux restaurant. After a delicious lunch, there was a 90-minute Pilates class given by Elena, followed by Tata Harper’s masterclass. Guests could indulge in carefully created detox juices, and had the chance to enjoy a 3-course dinner at the bistronomic restaurant La Table du Ventoux.
After studying and training in classical dance for 10 years, Elena Berti joined the Hot Jazz Dance Company as a dancer. At the same time, she took jazz training courses and advanced courses with international choreographers and teachers, including Erika Rhoda, Peter Goss, and many others. A few years later, she set up her own dance centre, Axe, in Pistoia (Tuscany), and in 1990 she founded the Danse-Théâtre School in Pistoia, where she teaches modern jazz dance. She then moved to France and passed her exams at the Conservatoire d’Avignon. In 2000 she was appointed artistic director of the Movimento dance centre in Orange, and in 2003, she set up her own arts centre, Artedanza, where she and her team teach modern jazz and classical dance, theatre, singing and acrobatics. Later, Elena attended pilates training classes with Thierry Vezies and Karine Lerquin and obtained the National Pilates Teacher Diploma. In 2018, she obtained the Diplôme National Professeur de Pilates Niveau Superieur and the Diplôme National Professeur de Hatha Yoga. Finally, in 2020, she received the ASI / CONI diploma in postural gymnastics and personal trainer.
She opened her new Movimento Centre in September 2017, as a space dedicated to the practice of Pilates and other group classes that focus on the development of body and mind.
The Pilates Matwork method is a gentle form of gymnastics for the body, consisting of a series of postural and movement exercises. The aim of these exercises is to strengthen and stretch the deep muscles, stabilise them and optimise their function, thereby promoting body alignment.
Every movement from start to finish must be controlled in space and time.
An essential component of the “breathe through your exercises” method. You breathe deeply with your chest, not by inflating your abdomen. This technique tones the abdominal muscles.
The body is almost always moving, but the movements are slow because they involve the deep muscles. It is the coordination between the nervous system and the musculo-articular system that makes this fluidity possible.
The exercises follow on from each other in a precise manner, creating the perfect balance between agonist and antagonist.
Every movement and every breath must be considered and come from the centre of the body.
Whatever the exercise, the stomach should be drawn in to work the deep abdominals; “Everything comes from the stomach”, which is the centre of gravity.
This is the ability to keep a part of the body still, particularly the torso, which is part of the elegance of this method.
Relax and loosen your muscles and work on your range of movement.
