Mont Ventoux and more! Get on your bike!
In mid-October, we are going to spend a weekend cycling some of the most beautiful roads of Provence .. the Gorge de la Nesque, the Dentelles de Montmirail, and of course, the Mont Ventoux.
If you are a keen recreational cyclist who manages to get out on the road more than a few weekends each summer, why not join us for three days of lovely autumn road riding in one of the world’s most beautiful cycling regions.
With a few of our local French friends, we will be hosting this relaxed but very enjoyable weekend.
The weekend goes from Thursday 16th October to Sunday 19th October.
Your room, dinner and breakfast each day are included in the package price of €970 for single occupancy & €1,370 for two people sharing a Superior room. Classic rooms will be a bit cheaper and we have four higher categories of rooms with bigger price tags if you feel like splashing out.
One of the reasons to take a nicer room might be if you are bringing along a non-cycling partner who would appreciate the added comfort; there will also be a few optional activities for non-cycling partners. Two complimentary spa treatments, a cheese tasting with Provence’s best fromagère Claudine Vigier, and a guided visit to the home of antique shopping in Provence, l’Isle sur la Sorgue, are a few of the added extras for the non-cyclists. The price for a cyclist and a non-cycling partner sharing a Superior room is €1,410.
The programme … we will all meet on Thursday evening for a welcome drink or two on the terrace of the Hotel with a full frontal view of Ventoux to concentrate the mind. On Friday, we take an easy morning ride through the vineyards and olive groves of the surrounding countryside to stretch our legs. After a midday picnic, we might split into two or more groups depending on energy and enthusiasm levels. On Saturday, for the challenge-mad among us, there is Ventoux … 1,600 metres of vertical climb over 22 kilometres.
A few further details. This trip can be as “groupy” or as “private” as you would like. You can join the communal table for dinners and drink to the wee hours or instead have a nice quiet table for two and just show up for the rides; the weekend is yours to enjoy. Second, we imagine that some riders might want to bring their own bikes which is a great idea. But if you do not feel like trusting an airline with your precious two wheels, we can arrange top quality Trek carbon bicycles for hire to fit any size. Just let us know. Everything mentioned above is included in the package, except the carbon bike hire.

Hope you can join us,
Peter Chittick and Craig Miller.
